Conté crayon and charcoal on gesso on bathroom stall

This reproduction of a Käthe Kollwitz lithograph (Mütter, II. Fassung) on a bathroom stall was one of my first ventures into public art. I tried to show an unexpected and uncomfortable scene to a captive audience; those sitting on the toilet. The project also attempted to encourage more ambitious works of bathroom graffiti, and displaying artwork in an open and communal setting. As time passed people started writing their comments around the image, but no-one defaced the drawing for the eight months it was up.
